Biennials live for approximately two growing seasons, make seeds, and then die.
List of Biennials
- California Poppy
- Forget-me-not
- Foxglove
- Hollyhock
- Honesty
- Poppy
- Stock
- Sweet William
This list came from Horticulture: The Art and Science of Smart Gardening website. This is just a list of popular biennials and not a complete list. I encourage you to do a little research into these kinds of flowers. Some biennials are grown as annuals like the Blue Bedder; while others are grown as perennials such as the Delphinium ‘Centurion Sky Blue’. It pays to do a little research and find out which is which because some biennials will re-seed themselves acting as perennials, but you don’t want to be surprised by an annual when it blooms the second year and then suddenly dies back and never returns.
